False Hellebore: Poisons A to Z | Northern New England Poison Center

Vermont Department of Health issued the following announcement.

Are you foraging for ramps this spring? Make sure you’re harvesting the right plant. False hellebore is a plant that may look like ramps – AKA wild leeks – but they do not smell like onion. Eating false hellebore can cause severe poisoning and you might end up in the hospital. Learn more to make sure you’re eating the right plant.
