Vermont Department of Health issued the following announcement on April 8.

New @CDCMMWR study found some people can be reinfected with #COVID19 shortly after initial infection. To best protect against reinfection, everyone ages 5+ years should stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3Jl5IGu.

Congrats to our Vermont Health Department’s CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, Brian Borah, co-led this MMWR about reinfections within 90 days of getting COVID-19. Health Surveillance team members Lynn Blevins, Allison Lafferty, Julia Pringle, and Patsy Kelso also contributed to these findings. We are grateful for their contributions as we continue to discover more about COVID-19.
