The Vermont Women’s Fund issued the following announcement.

The Vermont Women’s Fund is proud to announce its endowment campaign, When Women Thrive. The goal is to raise $3 million which doubles our endowment and impact. Today, we invite you to be a part of it. Keep reading to find out how.

We have a unique opportunity in Vermont to drive real change and fulfill a vision where all women and girls can truly rise and thrive. Doubling our endowment will empower the Women’s Fund to exponentially increase its annual grantmaking and transform the systems that affect women’s lives in our state. These include child and eldercare, wage equity, and career advancement across all businesses.

The timing of this drive could not be more appropriate. As you know, the burden of the pandemic has fallen on the shoulders of women. As we emerge from this time, women are reimagining their futures, and creating new pathways to achieve equity.

It is imperative that the Women’s Fund increase its capacity to support needed changes in Vermont. When women thrive, communities succeed.

To those of you who have worked on the campaign or have already contributed, we send our heartfelt thanks. To the many others who are now learning about this effort, we ask for your help to get us to the finish line.

To date, we have raised $2.6 million in pledges and donations towards our $3 million goal. We are looking to raise the next $100,000 by September 1st and we need your help!

The Women’s Fund was founded as a way for women to support other women, and to promote financial giving among women. That’s as essential today as it was when the Women’s Fund was first established. Every donation – from $10 to $1000 – moves us closer to our goal.

Please help us create a stronger, more equitable future for women and girls!
