The Chamber solicits cold weather gear for children (especially) but also for adults, enough to
fill the ice fishing shanty parked somewhere on Main Street. Some groups and organizations
challenge each other to see who can collect the most. Cold weather gear is distributed starting
the second Saturday in October through the Poultney Women's Club, area schools, and charity

organizations. The Chamber organizes the event, provides publicity, collects and sorts
donations, and distributes them to the schools and other organizations.
