Census Bureau: 3% of people in Rutland County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 60,662 citizens living in Rutland County in 2021, 97% said they were only one race, while 3% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Rutland County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 95.1% or 57,672 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 0.8% and totaled 493 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Rutland County is 0.4% lower than the state average, which stands at 3.4%.
