Hayley Goodwin Salutatorian, Class of 2022
Hayley has achieved wonderful things at MVCS and spurs others on to work hard for the glory of God. She was inducted into the National Honor Society, served in student council numerous years, received the ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student award, and led the Lady Eagles to countless victories in basketball and volleyball.
This standout athlete recalls visiting the Barre Auditorium for the 2020 semi-finals as her favorite memory from her MVCS years. Prior to that game, Hayley reached the prestigious benchmark of 1,000 points scored - as only a sophomore! She graduates MVCS just shy of 2,000, and for anyone who has seen her play, you know how exciting it is to watch this girl step on the court!
A committed student, Hayley advises younger MVCS students to take their schoolwork seriously. “People in your life sacrificed a lot for you to give you the opportunity to attend Mid Vermont,” she says. She also encourages them to get involved in athletics, because “they teach you a type of hard work and discipline that can’t be taught in the classroom.”
After graduation, Hayley will be lacing up her sneakers again in hopes of playing college basketball. She is seeking the Lord’s guidance as to where that will be and what she’ll be studying. Hayley, we can’t wait to watch you excel at what God has in store for you! Your quiet and quick wit, competitive drive, and natural leadership cannot be replaced! Congratulations!
