Graduates earn 837 degrees from Middlebury College

About 25.8 percent of the 837 degrees and certificates handed out by Middlebury College in 2017-18 were to students in social sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Middlebury conferred 216 bachelor's degrees in social sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general economics. Data shows the school gave out 90 bachelor's degrees in general economics, followed by 67 master's degrees in general English language and literature and 61 bachelor's degrees in environmental studies.

The college enrolled 2,611 students for 2017-18, including 2,564 in undergraduate programs and 47 in graduate programs.
