Middlebury College Athletics issued the following announcement.

Our cats have been Zoom-bombing since 2020, and it’s about time they get the spotlight they deserve. In this fun series, we will introduce you to the felines owned by Middlebury Library staff.

Name: Alva

Age: 12

Coloration / Breed:
Grey and white, domestic short hair

Place of Origin:
Homeward Bound in Middlebury

Adopted by:
Carrie Macfarlane, Director of Research & Instruction

Fun facts:

He cannot resist the pull of the cat magnet (a.k.a. pellet stove) in wintertime.

He cannot stand sharing his yard with his neighbor, who looks exactly like him. (Can you tell the difference???)

He cannot walk straight through a doorway. He always has to get a running start.

Favorite Toy:
His very long tail, which he chases while he waits for dinner.

Special Talents:
Finding freshly laundered clothes. They are perfect for cat naps.

If he had a library card…
Alva would check out The Traveling Cat Chronicles, because he regularly travels to a house on the other side of town to get a bite to eat, even though we feed him three times a day.
